About Me

My name is Isara Koy Suntichotinun. I was born in Bangkok, Thailand but moved to San Diego, California at the age of four. Being a family of globetrotters, we moved again to Boiling Springs, South Carolina where I finished high school at South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. I spent two years at School of the Art Institute of Chicago majoring in Fine Arts and Visual Communications and I'm now I'm currently attending Grossmont College majoring in Sociology.

You can usually find me at my parent's restaurant located in La Jolla, CA called Aroi Cafe!

Artist Statement

Isara Koy Suntichotinun is a multi-disciplinary artist whose main focus is in illustration, typography, and graphic design. His passion begins in fine arts but thrives beyond towards the study of semiotics and visual communication. Koy's goal is to combine his academic research in soft and hard science with his art objects in order to create products that effectively stimulate interest from his audience. Koy's passion for visual language can be translated not only towards analog and digital illustrations but also within sculpture, videography, and performance. His dream is to advocate for progressive non-profits and work in local government that focuses on opening local businesses that employs and supports communities especially in underprivileged areas. Koy is currently the Official Photographer for running Congressman Ammar Campa-Najjar, Blues Ambassador for Blue Note, and is a freelance designer who has worked for clients such as Seven Year Witch and Blues dance instructor and history advocate, Cierra Ruffin who runs Obsidian Tea.
